Android Is For The Masses, iPhone For The Rich (59)
on ReadWriteWeb (3365) permalinkOur network blog last100 has an interesting interview with Nicolas Gramlich, founder of anddev.org - an online community for Android developers. As editor Steve O'Hear notes in his intro, there have been issues with Google's mobile OS of late - an incomplete and buggy SDK, favoritism towards select developers, lack of transparency, and concerns that the platform could become fragmented and that Google has ceded too much control to carriers. But all those problems may ...Shared by (jeff)isageek (203) adrcc2 (12) AJ (693) Alberto (0) AlexandrosM (39) Apostolos (78) arjo (93) Bhavesh (41) Carri (0) CB (107) Chris K (53) Dan (73) Dirk Schrama (8) Dzu (0) eLd0raDo (4) Engin (15) frank_tentler (34) Frederic (43) gisc (44) Greg (2) Hyunhak (10) Inman (0) James Whatley (125) Jamie R (41) Jdorfman (75) Joe (152) jon bradford (21) Jonathan (10) Jrod (78) kcearns (31) kleinman (0) libra0 (113) Marque (64) Mike F (1570) Nate (50) Nicolas Lehuen (19) nicolas.boullosa (38) Ondrej Bechyne (83) onlythoughtworks (14) Ontario Emperor (206) Paul Denlinger (19) Pete (93) Peter (41) Phreak 2.0 (147) psvensson (33) Qian (176) Ram (370) Richard (17) Robert Scoble (239) Ryan (0) sarahintampa (364) Satya (43) Sol Young (32) StevieB (79) Theo Bosdas (46) Tim (230) Tim (114) Wayne (101) zos (107)Explore read four notes

F1 teams debating introduction of KERS for 2009 (1)
on Autoblog (252) permalinkFiled under: Motorsports, Tech Following two incidents in two weeks, it looks like the ballyhooed KERS hybrid system might not make it onto Formula 1 cars for 2009 -- at least, not the first races. Teams have begun to talk about how much difficulty they're having in building a safe system. KERS not only needs to work when the car is racing around the track, it also needs to be engineered properly in the event ...Shared by Ryan (0)Contribute comment

F1 mechanic gets a big shock from KERS (4)

The system stores the energy from braking and makes it available to the driver in an on-demand burst. Red Bull got things buzzing last week when an eruption of smoke and fumes ...Contribute comment

Rackspace Downtime: A Reminder That All Are Vulnerable (3)

A quick blog search turned up other applications, such as Syncplicity, that were also hosted at the Rackspace datacenter and were also down. Rackspace seem to be jinxed since being named the “most reliable” hosting service by NetCraft back in September of 2007. They had a major outage only two months later in November, ...
