Hmm.. the patent system definitely needs reform... but please make sure my patents go through first LOL. (If this is any way to judge the timeframe, the first patent should take another year ... ugh.)

While other blogs are fighting for four-day work weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about maximizing my commitment to my career (current job and future). In my opinion if you’re a clock watcher, putting in your time 9-5 just to escape to happy hour or your DVR, you’re putting restrictions on your future. Even in the corporate world that entrepreneurial mindset of getting it done and then some, no matter what, is a ...

I thought that Obama’s presidency was inevitable? In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday. McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama’s solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly ...

In every instance there has been one common factor that helped my achieve and sustain my goals: tracking. Whoa, wait, before you click away or hit the J key on your ...

Are Businesses Getting Out of Paying Taxes or is it Just a Good Story for the Media and Politicians? One of the big stories last week was from the Government Accountability Office study that reported that two-thirds of American corporations didn’t pay any taxes in 2005. Of course, a statement like this is sure to create a lot of media coverage, and people who are against business immediately cried fowl. The first thoughts that come ...

San Francisco alone consumes 850 continuous megawatts of electricity during the day. How much is that? The two supersized solar arrays planned for 2013 won't be enough to run SF — they'll produce 800 megawatts total. Gavin Newsom's pet project, the tidal power generator, will only piddle out 55 megawatts — one-fifteenth of the city's needs. Meanwhile, the Golden State's two operating nuclear sites each crank out more than 2,000 megawatts — day or night, ...

Mr. Obama eroded many of those gains [with pro-life voters] last Saturday when he told Pastor Rick Warren during a nationally televised forum that deciding when the rights of personhood should be extended to the unborn was "above my pay grade." Even Doug Kmiec, a conservative Pepperdine University lawyer who has become one of Mr. Obama's most prominent pro-life backers, was ...

(2008-08-18) — Despite secrecy measures reminiscent of the Bush-Cheney administration, a list of questions, allegedly used to screen potential running mates for Democrat presidential hopeful Barack Obama, has leaked to the news media from a source close to Caroline Kennedy, the leader of his vice presidential search team. Aides have told The New York Times that an announcement is imminent, perhaps as early as Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. A nation holds its collective ...
