Filed under: Gaming According to gamesindustry.biz, Microsoft is confirming a slight revision to its Xbox 360 controller design. Apparently, the new iteration of the gamepad includes enhancements to its d-pad, which admittedly has always been somewhat lacking. In Microsoft's words: "The new limited edition green wireless controller offers enhancements to d-pad functionality, which will add to the experience of playing games where the d-pad is the primary control mechanism." We'd like to think that this ...

One intrepid (and open-source-minded) developer has created a non-jailbreak, theoretically legal way to implement copying and pasting between iPhone apps, as shown by GeekBrief.tv. Time will tell if other coders will pick up the idea to make their apps better. [via]

Filed under: Laptops Hey friend, ready for a full Lenovo IdeaPad S10 review? Sorry, this ain't it, but Laptop's initial hands-on with this "sweet 10-incher" might be enough to help with any imminent purchasing decisions requiring $429 in cash. What if we sweetened the deal and told you that Lenovo's netbook also features that very same un-netbooky X4500 integrated graphics found in Intel's Centrino 2 chipset -- no lame GMA950 here, pal. And as oddball ...

Okay, so maybe it has been possible in the past, but American Airlines is taking a huge leap forward in the US market today by giving passengers aboard long-haul Boeing 767-200 flights the option to hop online during the trip. The GoGo service, which is being provided by Aircell, will charge customers $12.95 for access to the world wide ...

The Dave Matthews Band's saxophonist LeRoi Moore has passed away. He was 46 years young. The musician was injured in an ATV accident in June, resulting in a punctured lung and broken ribs. Moore went back into the hospital last month due to complications. He passed away Tuesday in Los Angeles after more complications. Our condolences to LeRoi's family and bandmates. [Image via WENN.]

Sucks. Didn't he *just* have the accident prior to Rothbury? I think I read somewhere that the band almost wasn't going to play without him.

Believe it or not, Newt Gingrich and Sean Hannity are still, even now, laughing like school children over the notion of properly-inflated tires. A lot of Republicans have said a lot of stupid things about energy policy in recent weeks, but this may very well be the single most inane comment any of them have uttered publicly. (Worse than a House Republican from Texas exclaiming, “Let’s bring up the Paris Hilton plan”? Yes, even worse ...

"We're still importing 70% of our oil." he says. So, dumbass, answer this - how exactly does the 1% we'll gain from ANWAR alleviate any more than the 3-4% we'd gain by properly inflating our tires?

Microsoft has decided that if you want to make an Xbox Live app for the iPhone, you will have to give it away for free. The coders behind the 1337pwn Friends List were contacted by Microsoft and were told they could keep their app on the App Store — but only by reducing the price to Zero. We have looked at a similar previously, and were fairly unimpressed, so perhaps this is a quality-verus-branding issue ...

I'll never understand why this took so damn long. Just in time for the closing rush of the presidential election, MSNBC is shaking up its prime-time programming lineup, removing the long-time host –- and one-time general manager of the network — Dan Abrams from his 9 p.m. program and replacing him with Rachel Maddow, who has emerged as a favored political commentator for the all-news cable channel. The moves, which were confirmed by MSNBC executives ...

It's good to know that the Heavy appreciates a good sandwich as much as I do. Though in my case my need for hunger-filling sammiches pushes me to hire interns in the Denver area. In the case of the Heavy? He uses his Sandvich to satisfy overwhelming hunger pangs and heal 120 health. The tidy meal does take him a good four seconds to eat, and apparently the noise of his chomping is a dead ...
