The workplace, more and more, is changing, and with this change comes a whole new set of rules. The traditional office work environment and tools are still around, but at a very rapid pace, they’re being supplanted by newer and better tools, newer and better ways of working. The old rules are being broken, and new ones are emerging. 29% of Internet Users Have Bought Things From Spam Email?? Say It Aint So! (24)

Security company Marshal reports that their latest survey found 29% of respondents willing to admit that they have purchased something from a spam e-mail. While that number seems pretty questionable, PCMag's Appscout points to a related survey from Forrester in 2004 that found 20% of people say they have bought from spammers. In other words, if you believe these studies - it's getting worse, not better. Faster-than-light communication (18)

In a Swiss experiment, two entangled photons 18 km away from each other were able to communicate with each other almost instantaneously. On the basis of their measurements, the team concluded that if the photons had communicated, they must have done so at least 100,000 times faster than the speed of light -- something nearly all physicists thought would be impossible. In other words, these photons cannot know about each other through any sort of ...Shared by Alix (2) Andrew Ruess (94) Andy (0) Chris Wetherell (7) cisellis (14) Enkrates (1) Eugene Alvin Villar (7) Geoff (0) Jeffrey (6) Jérôme Flipo (0) Josh (4) Linkletter (5) mac (17) Meromo (7) Phonkmeister (17) ScorpFromHell (6) sukumar (8) Sunil Garg (2)- Chris Wetherell said: One of the researchers, Nicholas Gisin, notes these events "seem to happen from outside space-time, in that it's not a story you can tell within space-time" and that "what's fascinating here is that we see that nature is able to produce events that can manifest themselves at several locations."
