There are a lot of Russian submarines cruising through the cold waters of Arctics, sometimes being caught in ice, sometimes giving magnificent looks to the dwellers of Russian polar villages, like a huge atomic submarine among icebergs of cold sea at dawn. read more....

I came across AppVee this evening, a new site that is creating written and video reviews of iPhone apps. We continue to write about iPhone applications that we find interesting and include them in Crunchbase, but we aren’t doing the kind of in-depth, categorized reviews that AppVee is taking the time to create. AppVee rates each application based on a variety of factors depending on the type of app. For entertainment applications, for example, apps ...

Purportedly one of the eight [redacted] people who bought I Am Rich has gone all Paris with the video making, and decided to show the rest us more than maybe we needed to really know about the $999 proof that P.T. Barnum was right — again. And no need to hurry on that hacked version either, b’okay? (via TUAW)

At any rate, said outfit has just hosted up a video of its fourth test drive of a prototype, which is shown sporting an "Electric" badge on the front fender and a whole mess of batteries and wires underneath the hood. In the years before iPhone, my smartphones had replaceable batteries and I usually carried a spare, especially on trips. Inexplicably, the iPhone doesn’t afford this “luxury” — the battery is not user-replaceable and when it’s dead, it’s dead. If you don’t have a charger handy, you are out of luck. This can be particularly frustrating if you are taking a long flight, want to watch a movie on your iPhone’s expansive screen, and still have ...

Filed under: Gaming Well, what have we here? One of those unicorn-like Opus motherboards? According to an image put forth by one Electric Tuner, that's exactly what we have. If you'll recall, we heard back in February that Microsoft may be utilizing the Opus mobos in order to fit the newer 65 / 90-nanometer CPU / GPU combo into RRoDed Xbox 360s that are just collecting dust in warehouses. Thus, you'll find no dedicated HDMI ...

Filed under: Desktops Cat's out of the bag: we're nerds, and can't think of a better way to spend a Tuesday morning than to shuffle through endless configuration pages, trying to build the best bang-for-buck Studio Hybrid on the internet. Dell's product page for the new mini desktop -- which was released last night -- is now online, and offers up that fabled $499 configuration, in addition to some rather spendy siblings.
