Identi.ca implements the Twitter API (28)
on Scripting News (441) permalinkYesterday I got an email from Evan Prodromou at identi.ca saying that they had implemented the Twitter API; he asked if I would test my apps against their implementation. I did, and I'm happy to report that I was able to run all my code, unmodified, except for substituting identi.ca/api where ever twitter.com appears in an address. That's what I call compatible! 10 Reasons Why FriendFeed Will Beat Out the Competition (111)
on Mashable! (5710) permalinkThis is a guest post by Aseem Kishore, a technology enthusiast and lead blogger for Online-Tech-Tips. FriendFeed has come a long way in a short amount of time. In the beginning, it was just a fancy RSS aggregator with commenting thrown into the mix. However, over time, FriendFeed has added a slew of great features which has lead many to think that it will be the this year’s Twitter (if it isn’t already). Breaking: Live Mesh Now Open to All of U.S. (44)
on ReadWriteWeb (6557) permalinkWindows Live Mesh is Microsoft's software+services data synchronization platform. Because of its complex nature, most people assume that file synchronization is all there is to Live Mesh, but in reality, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Microsoft has big plans for the service and syncing files between computers and the cloud is just the start. When Live Mesh launched, it was currently a closed "technical preview" (that's Microsoft for "beta"). WordPress Gets Versioning (2)

Version/revision saves a copy of a post every time you edit it, allows you to view (not edit) each of those copies (revisions), Shows forward (in time) diffs between any two revisions. I’m a big fan of versioning. As I discussed in this post, I think it’s a core component of content management, and it’s tough to call a system a true CMS without.
