Over three years ago, I was faced with a dilemma. I had recently switched to the Mac (from Linux) and was still using my text editor of choice (vim), but at the time, vim’s “integration” with OS X was pretty minimal (and that’s putting it optimistically). The entire stock market is taking another drubbing today, and Google is no exception. Its shares tried to rally in the morning, but are now trading below the $329 they closed at yesterday. That’s a key price level Google employees are watching because a huge chunk of their options (1.7 million across the company) were granted with a weighted average exercise price of $329.78. The options are worthless under that price. In addition to that, ...

Ask For Help Once again, a project is asking for everyone's favorite IE 6 .PNG alpha transparency fixes -- more rounded corners! Examples include the CSS Behavior code, using .PNGs or .GIFs with on/off transparency, regulating IE 6 to the square Web 1.0 world, and even using on/off transparency and just knocking a pixel or two off of corners for a "good enough" rounded look. What are your favorite IE 6 rounded-corner and/or alpha-transparency fixes?

These feature Google engineers discussing search technology, Map Reduce (considered to be Google's secret search sauce), working with clusters and the cloud, and much more. ...
