Rumour Mill: Arsene Wenger will test Everton's resolve to keep hold of their star players by offering £12m for Mikel Arteta when the transfer window opens this week. The Guardian suggest that the Arsenal boss is looking to bolster his side's flagging title hopes by opting for the experienced Basque midfielder, though Blues fans would likely scoff at the price seeing as Everton paid more for Marouane Fellaini in the summer.
