User-centred design becomes user-driven innovation when you are dealing with businesses in Central and Northern Europe, and customer-centric marketing when you deal with people working in marketing and branding. Yet these concepts are not at all the same, and share only superficial similarities. Case in point is this article from Marketing Daily. Some excerpts: Combining [qualitative and ethnographic] research, data analytics and sales engagement is a proven approach to building actionable personae that informs hyper-targeting ...Shared by Emil (6) lezionidistile (22)Contribute comment - Look at the strategy on her (1)

Wired: Compiler (81) permalink
The newest version of iTunes was released Tuesday. Considering I bought in to Apple’s music software/hardware ecosystem long ago, I downloaded iTunes 8 right away and started messing around with it last night. I recommend going straight to Apple’s iTunes download page rather than relying on iTunes’ or Mac OS X’s software updater. The OMG feature for most users is the inclusion of a new music recommendation engine. Not unlike what we’ve seen before in ...Shared by Emil (6)Contribute comment -

Det få ...Shared by Emil (6)Contribute comment -

I had the pleasure of meeting Andrë Braz in 2007 at an AP training, and was pleased to see him again at UX Week in August 2008. Andrë hails from Rio de Janeiro, and is a thoughtful thinker about how user experience impacts peoples lives. So it’s not surprising that his UX Manifesto is clear, honest, generous and focused on improving lives through caring and appropriate design. It starts like this: Looking for a better ...Contribute comment -

The redesign project for Drupal.org will be guided by an experience strategy that will inform our decision making in all aspects of the redesign and which will, we hope, be able to be used as ‘a star to sail our ship by’ (as Jesse James Garrett would say) - as a clear objective to design towards. What is an experience strategy? An experience strategy is a clearly articulated touchstone that influences all of the decisions ...- Dave said: I'm actively following how some organizations are trying to bring design into their Open Source Software projects. Leisa Rechtl has her work cut out for her here, but this is a GREAT start.

mmmmmmm. The smell of Fall is in the air. Every September, I get that “back to school” urge to stock up on art and school supplies. As I talk about in the essay The Joy of Sketch, there’s a lot of activity at Adaptive Path around analog visual methods.
