I don't know how this can possibly be reliable data. 1 of 2 possible explanations exists: (1) they are looking at who is USING which browser the most, in which case much of the usage may simply be from curiosity surrounding the release or the fact that Google has never released a browser yet it has been anticipated so highly; (2) they actually think that in that short a time they can conduct a survey comprehensive enough to ask people which browser they will now "use" and expect faithful answers. Either way, I think a pretty doubtful case for Chrome's alleged "market share" to remain at this level, whichever method they are using. This bothers me a bit, but then maybe I'm just plain wrong.

Most of current Chrome users are still early adopters, but over time, we think that Chrome will mostly drain users away from Opera and IE, as its simplicity and ease of use would most probably appeal most to these two groups, while a lot of advanced Firefox users won't be able to switch until Chrome supports extensions.
