Joost – one of last year’s hottest startups and so far one of this year’s biggest flops – is pulling a 180 in strategy. According to Om Malik, the video service will kill off its desktop client and replace it with a Web version that will utilize a “small plugin that would embed itself in the browser and allow you to grab files using the P2P technologies” Although the required download was long one of ...Shared by Benedict Lee Zhi En (163) Creeva (41) Leon (7) Rex (135) TomDeleu (10) Vincenzo (53) zapnap (33)Contribute comment -

First Bill Gates + Jerry Seinfeld Microsof Ad Makes No Sense (112)

Besides the slick and probably expensive editing designed to make Jerry Seinfeld look like the more awkward of the pair, there's not a whole lot of special effects in this clip. In fact, there's not really a whole lot of anything, including laughs, information or pimping of Vista. It's kinda like Seinfeld's really long, really rambling Superman ad for Amex he did a few years back. We hope the rest of the campaign is better. ...Shared by Scott Bedard (9) Aaron (19) Aaron Beebe (3) adam (972) Alex Gorstan (10) Andrew Sims (7) Angus (43) Ben S (40) Benjamin J. DesktopLyrics Embeds Song Lyrics on Your Desktop [Featured Mac Download] (15)

Lifehacker (7277) permalink
Mac OS X only: As its name suggests, free application DesktopLyrics automatically embeds lyrics on your desktop to the song you're currently listening to in iTunes. It's a simple app that does exactly what it says, but what it doesn't do is actually download lyrics—meaning that if you don't have the lyrics already embedded in the song's metadata, DesktopLyrics won't display anything. Luckily previously mentioned GimmeSomeTune automatically does just that (along with album art and ...Shared by Army of Gnomes (35) Bill (20) Bwana (73) Carl (7) Casey Petersen (2) Fernando (27) Fred Schechter (75) Josi (20) Mike F (456) nparker13 (92) paco_reyes (20) Pat (59) Ross (4) Vincenzo (53) zsafwan (45)Contribute comment - Photos: Germany's upside-down house (16)
