Although it reminds me of a art display I once went to called "Bond, James Bond" in which I saw the props for many of the films. The xray prop Bond intro used plastic see-through toys and not real xrays of guns though. Seemed brilliant at the time.

permalinkpixelvapour has pointed out an error with color swatch correction that I should expand on here. Thanks for kicking me in the pants to clarify this. He says that color swatches in maya are not corrected by the framebuffer setting in renderGlobals. He seems to be correct, and it may be a reason that larger studio workflows have mentioned using gamma nodes to correct just about everything in their scenes, and not the framebuffer setting. ...Shared by alchemy (9)Contribute comment

Go tiny or go home. That's the Spore marketing philosophy apparently, as the folks from EA have installed what is probably the world's daintiest billboard in San Francisco's Union Square. At just 14" by 6", the Spore billboard requires a telescope to see. The excellent Radiolab podcast recently featured Zoë Keating, a classiclly-trained cellist who now makes absolutely entrancing loop music in real time using digital samplers. Radio Lab host Jad Abumrad referred to Keating as the "quantum cellist" and her rich, layered, and haunting music has been described as "the perfect music for apocalyptic landscapes."
