We already know that Gov. Palin's interview with Katie Couric was a complete and utter disaster. When prompted to defend her claim that geographic proximity makes her some sort of expert on U.S.-Russo relations, she observed that Putin flies over Alaska to get to the lower forty-eight. When asked to identify a single market regulation that McCain supported in his 26 years of service, Palin said "I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring ...Shared by rcraswell (15)Contribute comment -

Stupid yet clever enough for Monday-afternoon viewing is this Nintendo Wii ad on YouTube that shakes apart the whole page during gameplay. Drill into it and you'll find it's not a standard YouTube video page, but an oversized Flash animation. Well done! But if the Wall Street Journal's Ahead of the Tape page does this tomorrow, I'm unsubscribing.Shared by Joseph (20) rcraswell (15)Contribute comment -

Or, I Test-Drove a Tesla and All I Got Was These Lousy Adrenaline ShakesShort version: Tesla.--Long version: I've had insomnia since I was a wee lad, and at night I often calm my brain by thinking up idealized objects. Report: Google to buy Kirkland's Valve (1)

Brier Dudley's blog (4) permalink
This is pretty huge, if it pans out: The Inquirer is reporting that Google's going to buy Valve, the Eastside developer of the hit "Half-Life" franchise and operator of an online game play and distribution service called Steam. If true, it would be a huge leap into gaming by Google and pit the search company directly against Microsoft's Live online gaming service. It would also continue Google's strategy of leaping ahead by acquiring batches of ...Shared by rcraswell (15)Contribute comment -

Podcaster Developer Uses Little-Known "Ad Hoc" Mode To Distribute Banned iPhone App (59)

Over the weekend, a debate raged across the tech blogosphere concerning the risks involved in developing for the iPhone platform. The discussion began with Fraser Spears, who claims he will never write another iPhone app for the App Store as it exists today. Dave Winer soon followed up, agreeing that the iPhone was an unreliable platform. What prompted the debate in the first place was Apple's decision to reject an app known as the Podcaster, ...Shared by Adam McDonald (8) Adrian (23) Alain Edouard (59) Alberto (228) André R.
